Studio extra DOmestic violence awareness month
On October 19 Studio Extra held a 24 hour Makeup Marathon fundraiser for Domestic Violence Awareness month. Raising funding for our neighborhood DV shelter Doorways a nonprofit creating pathways out of homelessness, domestic violence, and sexual assault leading to safe, stable, and empowered lives. 1 in 3 people experience intimate partner violence. Being beauty providers we have clients that are currently experiencing this crisis. Doorway not only came to support our event they trained our staff on what to do and say when a client, friend or someone we know is experiencing domestic violence. We now know how to guide conversations for victims and how to lead them to resources and we have resources at our studio.
